I.D. on road trip

Leah, keeping your I.D. safe while travelling is something we all need to think about. I live abroad and have to keep it in mind at all times. A good idea is to scan your docs (passport, drivers license, medical I.D. card, credit cards, etc. Then create a separate email account with Juno or some such provider and send them to yourself. Include a letter that gives other pertinent info such as emergency phone numbers, telephone numbers to cancel credit cards if they get lost or stolen, etc. Now, should you lose your wallet or such on your trip you just need to access the Internet via an Internet caffe' or a friend's computer, download your I.D. and take the appropriate steps to replace it and cancel credit cards, etc. Of course, a second set of photocopied info in hard copy is a good idea too. This email idea is just a good back up. Once the trip is over you can delete the mail, and the account, if you want. I'd download the email and save it to hard disk for the next trip.
